I found this great video that shows how to create a Google Site template!
I have been asked to pilot Google Dashboard in order to manage e portfolios for second graders. In thinking about my project for this course I have spent time exploring a variety of tutorials specific to Google Sites. I am hoping to create a template for the students to use, as a starting point, in order to establish continuity and ease of use and directions for early learning within the Google environment!
It's amazing what you can learn to do with just a quick 6 min. video. I love the way you can get an explanation and also watch the creation as it is happening. We too at CMS are thinking about creating some type of template for Google Sites for our students. Some of our students piloted its use in the Spring, however there was no common template they were working from. We are thinking that having a common school wide template would make it easier for teachers across content areas to incorporate its use. It will also assist students in organizing their site. Thank you for sharing the tutorial.
ReplyDeleteI like this video. It seems easy enough to do. I am a visual learner so seeing an example is very helpful to me. I can see using a template if you are managing a school website and you want all teachers to have a similar page online. I can also see students documenting their work through a template like this as well.
